Learn about Microgaming

In January 2003, Microgaming introduced their updated Viper software. Viper’s recent innovative feature is the autoplay. It operates according to a versatile basic blackjack strategy. In video poker, the maximum fly’s play is resolved by a strategy engine. Determining whether the Viper software provides the innovative autoplay feature or not, distinguishes between the latest and older Microgaming casino versions. A flash version is provided by this software. Apparently, the latest version works according the same rules of Viper’s older version of software. Strategy consultation, rules and the house edge in a list of games available for playing are included in the following list. These names can be changed slightly by assorted casinos.

Baccarat

Baccarat uses a single deck of cards. The percentage player’s edge is 1.286 while the house edge on the banker is 1.012 percent.

Baccarat – High Limit

This game is played with eight decks of cards. 1.06 percent is the house edge the banker plays at, and the player’s edge is 1.24 percent while 14.36 percent is the house edge for a tie. Unlike the Asian way of playing baccarat with players tending to rush in the high limit, here the player is allowed to peek at the cards without having to rush in the high limit.

Blackjack

Blackjack games come in a large diversity. In the following list, the favorite rules are the Vegas Strip rules, so without concern you can discard the others.

European Blackjack

The following are rules in brief:

  • Two decks are used
  • The dealer stands on soft seventeen
  • Double solely on nine to eleven
  • No doubling is permitted after splitting
  • Resplitting is forbidden
  • The player may draw for splitting aces
  • No surrendering permitted
  • Absolutely no peeking: the player loses the total sum wager against the dealer’s blackjack
  • Insurance is not resolved until the termination of the hand
  • One betting position solely

Multi-Hand Blackjack

In brief here are the rules:

  • Five decks of cards are used in this game
  • The dealer stands on soft seventeen
  • Only double on nine to eleven
  • No redoubling after splitting
  • No resplitting permitted
  • Player allowed to draw for splitting aces
  • No surrendering
  • No full peek: the player loses complete bet amount against the blackjack dealer
  • Insurance not resolved till game termination
  • Five positions of betting

Vegas Strip Blackjack

In brief here are the rules:

  • Four decks of cards are used in this game
  • The dealer stands on soft seventeen
  • You can double on any of the first two cards
  • Doubling allowed after splitting
  • Resplitting to three hands permitted
  • Peeking by dealer for blackjack allowed
  • One betting position solely

Remember that the house edge is 0.3606 percent

Vegas Downtown Blackjack

In brief here are the rules:

  • Two decks of cards are used in this game
  • The dealer stands on soft seventeen
  • You can double on any of the first two cards
  • Doubling allowed after splitting
  • Resplitting to three hands permitted
  • Peeking by dealer for blackjack allowed
  • One betting position solely

Remember that the house edge is 0.40 percent

Atlantic City Blackjack

In brief here are the rules:

  • Eight decks of cards are used in this game
  • The dealer hits on soft seventeen
  • You can double on any of the first two cards
  • Doubling allowed after splitting
  • Resplitting to three hands permitted
  • Peeking by dealer for blackjack allowed
  • You are allowed to surrender late
  • One betting position solely

Remember that the house edge is 0.365 percent

The strategy applied is the same as that for Vegas Strip Blackjack except for having to surrender on sixteen against nine, ten and an ace and fifteen against a ten.

Bonus Blackjack

The rules for Bonus Blackjack are exactly the same as those governing the Vegas Downtown blackjack game. On a side bet you have the option of fifty to one payout. 6.46 percent is the house edge on the side bet in this game.

Triple Sevens Blackjack

Progressive blackjack is played according to the same rules and strategy as multi-hand blackjack, except for playing one hand only at a time and holding a compulsory triple sevens dollar bet. For viewing the personal paying side bet hands’ returns and their forecast look at the chart. For every win for three sevens, they must be in the same hand in accordance with the primary three cards. Thus with a three sevens hand, splitting upsets any possibility of winning.

The house edge on the side bet is 37.94 percent, and 3.45 percent is subtracted from every ten thousand dollars clocked in the meter. For the side wager to consist of zero house edge the meter would have to clock $109, 862. On December 19, 2003, the clock at the Grand Hotel casino clocked $16, 852.

The basic strategy is the same here as any other game of multi-hand blackjack except for the fact that the participant keeps two seven while the dealer holds a maximum of one seven. By using in this game the basic strategy of splitting you can stop a three seven win. In most situations the player would hit any two sevens. If the highest player’s bet is forty two dollars the player would always hit two sevens. Assuming the player doesn’t act as stated then he should split the blackjack bets according to the chart.

If the player holds unsuited sevens:

  • 97 dollars: the dealer holds two
  • 73 dollars: the dealer holds three
  • 58 dollars: the dealer holds four
  • 54 dollars: the dealer holds five
  • 43 dollars: the dealer holds six
  • 75 dollars: the dealer holds seven

If the player holds suited sevens – excluding diamonds:

  • 149 dollars: the dealer holds two
  • 112 dollars: the dealer holds three
  • 89 dollars: the dealer holds four
  • 82 dollars: the dealer holds five
  • 66 dollars: the dealer holds six
  • 118 dollars: the dealer holds unsuited seven
  • 103 dollars: the dealer holds suited sevens

If the player holds diamond sevens

  • 80.67 dollars + 0.071707 times jackpot meter: the dealer holds two
  • 60.71 dollars + 0.053968 times jackpot meter: the dealer holds three
  • 47.77 dollars + 0.042464 times jackpot meter: the dealer holds four
  • 44.19 dollars + 0.039283 times jackpot meter: the dealer holds five
  • 35.3 dollars + 0.031377 times jackpot meter: the dealer holds six
  • 74.78 dollars + 0.058653 times jackpot: the dealer holds unsuited seven
  • 74.78 dollars + 0.039102 times jackpot meter: dealer holds diamonds sevens

We can illustrate this as follows: assuming the player bets two hundred dollars and gets seven of spades against a dealer’s two. In this case it’s best to split as the player’s wager is larger or equal to 149 dollars. Let’s now assume the player bet five hundred dollars and against the dealer’s four was dealt two seven of diamonds, while the jackpot meter clocks twenty thousand dollars. On multiplying twenty thousand dollars by 0.042464 you arrive at the sum of 897 dollars. As the player’s sum is lower than this sum he or she should hit.

Craps

Players participating in the game of Microgaming craps are not allowed to go beyond their first wagers, not by buying nor by laying the odds. 0.82 percent is the don’t pass side’s house edge, while 0.85 percent is the joint house edge on the pass side. This version rounds off any win to the penny while former wins were rounded off to the dollar.

A Place bet is in actual fact a win bet, and a place bet to lose is the lose bet. The same payoffs are awarded to both win bets and usual place bets. On the four there is the two to five, and on the four to seven on the five, and the lose bets pay nine. Four to five are paid on the six and eight. The house edge lose bets are 6.67 percent and 5.71 percent on the four and ten, and 1.82 percent on the six and eight.

Proposition bets’ house edge is the same as that for regular craps. On both the two and twelve and two to one odds the field bet pays out.

Cyberstud Poker

Cyberstud poker is the Microgaming name for Caribbean Stud Poker. The pay-table is much more generous in its payouts than the regular payouts for land-based casinos. The most generous online pay-table was set by Microgaming in September 2004. Pinnacle has since broken that record.

The strategy applied is the same as for the game’s regular pay-table. The house edge for these rules is 5.01 percent.

For the one dollar side bets there is a progressive version which is compulsory. A flush pays a fifty dollars side bet, one hundred dollars for a full house, five hundred dollars for four of a kind, twenty thousand dollars for a straight flush and a progressive jackpot for a royal flush.

The house edge of the side bet is 36.06 percent less 1.54 percent for each side bet, when for each ten thousand dollars clocked on the jackpot meter. For the side bet to be advantageous to a player the meter would need to clock higher than $234, 290.

Double Exposure

This game is a type of blackjack and the rules are as follows:

  • The two cards dealt by the dealer have to faced-up
  • The dealer wins all the ties except on blackjack
  • All players win when paying one to one as well as blackjack
  • All players win when paying one to one as well as blackjack
  • On blackjack ties one to one is paid
  • Eight decks of cards are used in this game
  • The dealer hits on soft seventeen
  • The player is allowed to resplit to four hands
  • Solely on hard nine to eleven is doubling
  • Only one card for splitting aces
  • Doubling is allowed after splitting

The house edge in this game is 0.69 percent.

Keno

Microgaming provides a competitive Keno game. The best game with a 96.54 percent return is the pick thirteen. According to the picks, the expected return can be viewed on the chart.

Pai Gow Poker

The identical basic rules are applied except that the dealer constantly acts as the banker. The house edge is 2.85 percent. As the chart shows a bonus Pai Gow poker game with a compulsory dollar side bet is included too.

Instead of a royal match with a royal the second major winning is a royal together with a pair of deuces, and in this Pai Gow poker is virtually the same as the Fortune Gow Poker side bet.

Obtaining the Microgaming hand is quite easy to perform, and this diminishes the house edge , from 5.85 percent of Fortune to 5.79 percent, excluding the envy bonus.

Poker Pursuit

Let it Ride is the popular name for Poker Pursuit, and is virtually the same except for the three highest payoffs which are slightly lower. Microgaming pays out forty nine, one hundred and ninety nine and nine hundred and ninety nine to one on the three best hands in contrast to the standard fifty, two hundred and thousand. This increases the 3.57 percent house edge above the 3.51 percent standard edge. There are no strategies for deviations in proportion to the standard paying table.

Red Dog

3.15 percent is the house edge, the standard rules are applied and one deck of cards is used in Red Dog.

Roulette

2.70 percent is the house edge in this game and a sole zero wheel is operated. Furthermore, where a one dollar side bet is placed a progressive roulette game is played. Assuming that the same number occurs at a minimum of twice in succession, the winner is the side bet. Assuming that the identical number occurs twice in succession then fifteen dollars is the paid side bet; a hundred dollars if it occurs three times; three thousand dollars if it occurs four times and progressive jackpot if it occurs five times successively. The sequence starts the moment the side bet has been placed. As long as the player continues to place a bet on each spin the winnings are totaled by accumulation. For the house to be at a zero advantage the meter would have to clock $781,626.03. The house edge, in general, plays at 40.58 percent less the 0.52 percent for every ten thousand dollars clocked on the meter. On December 18, 2003, the Grand Hotel casino clocked on the meter $99, 364.

French Roulette

This included the European surrendering rule, a single zero wheel is operated and the player surrenders solely half a bet – if the ball lands on a zero with red, black, odd, even, one to eighteen and nineteen to thirty six. 1.35 percent is the house edge which results from even money wagers, making this favorite roulette game on the Internet.

The Scratch Card

There is nothing known regarding the house edge, and no data has been conveyed concerning this game.

Sic Bo

Microgaming offers very competitive Sic Bo odds. If you wish you can compare other Internet software companies with Sic Bo. It’s important to know that the one number bet pays twelve to one on three of a kind, this is much better than the standard three to one payoff, and the six to one payoff on the two number combination is much better than the standard payoff of five to one. In contrast to major competitors, except for the the five and sixteen Microgaming gives equal or superior odds on even bets. For example, Microgaming pays thirty one to one where Playtech pays thirty two to one. For the house edge on all wagers and payoffs see the chart. The house edge is 2.78 percent and it’s the lowest edge at two combination wagers, high and small.

Slots

Even though it’s not absolutely certain, the reports on real payout percentages put out by the River Belle casino state that the average range for all slots is a range from ninety five percent to ninety five and half percent. The full reports can be read on the website.

Spanish Blackjack

Spanish Blackjack is the same game as Spanish 21. The rules are identical to those for double, double down as described in the Spanish 21 section. The Spanish 21 section describes the strategy of double, double down where the house edge is 0.38 percent.

Super Fun 21

You can read all about the rules and strategy for Super Fun 21, also it’s worth noting that the house edge is 0.94 percent.

Three Card Poker

Microgaming uses full pay tables. To put it in brief: you receive a bonus on one, four and five for the Ante bonus; on the one, four, six, thirty and forty you get a bonus on Pairplus. This results in a house edge of 3.37 percent on the Ante, while the house edge in 2.32 percent on the Pairplus. The correct strategy to use on the Ante bet is raising on queen, six, four or higher. For more information please look at the section on Three Card Poker.

In Three Card Poker, Microgaming, in the beginning, regarded the one before last of the highest straight as the ace, two and three. We are now pleased to say that they have now corrected this fault. It was demonstrated that against a five, six, and seven when holding an ace, two and three, the player lost.

Video Poker

Apart from two games, the chart shows all the forecasted returns for Microgaming’s video poker games. Superajax and Jackpot Deuces can not be evaluated as the software is not available. Either one or four play with jacks or better is considered the best game to play.
