"ESPN Joins with Colorado Entrepreneur to Set Up Online Sports Trivia Game"

Bruce Kallenberger of Aspen Colorado, has joined forces with ESPN to produce Trivia-Shootout, a new online trivia game and to present it to sports fans. The game offers cash prizes of up to $5,000 and is the first of its kind. Sports fans, Kallenberger tells us, also are predisposed to be gamblers.

Several contests are offered at the site. This includes a game that ranks among the top five in performance over a 24-hour period. This is a hot streak game in which the winner is the contestant who is able to answer the most consecutive questions correctly. There is also a speed game that is available in which the player who correctly answers six questions in the shortest amount of time is the winner. There are three skill levels offered by Trivia-Shootout so that players who are not experts can play and novices do not have to be afraid of playing against experts. In the beginning all players are entered as rookies but major trivia aficionados can join their own groups.

Prizes at the present time now range for one dollar to five thousand dollars. This amount however, is expected to with an increase in the number of players. Without regard to United States federal law that ostensibly forbids online gambling, the game made its debut on ESPN’s site in December. Kallenberger explains that the site has been able to avoid a conflict with United States gambling law, since Trivia-Shootout, regardless of its inclusion of a cash payout, may be classified as being predominantly a game of skill.

With online gambling being so popular at this time, the providers of Trivia-Shootout hope to profit from this constantly expanding multi-billion dollar industry, and consequently are encouraging players to try out their site. To do this they are offering a free 30-day trial for the coming month. To access the game simply go to ESPN.com’s fantasy page.

In spite of known hurdles that need to be dealt with, in the early phases, Kallenberger is surer this time around and expects this 12 month pilot deal with ESPN to succeed.
