The international online poker giant PokerRooms.com, which
has in access of 3.8 million players worldwide, has just
been awarded the eCGRA “Playing it Safe” seal
of approval. CEO Andrew Beveridger of eCGRA, says that PokerRooms.com’s
official recognition is significant not just for the online
poker industry but for his association as well. According
to Beveridger, PokerRooms.com may be considered as being
highly respected brand handling a major portion of the international
online poker market. He adds that their commitment to player
security and conscientious gaming through the G4 organization
is well-known.
CEO Patrick Selinski, of PokerRooms.com adds to this accreditation
represents the conclusion of hard, detailed, on-site inspections
and integrity checks. He adds that their company believes
that attaining accreditation is an important step forward
for their PokersNetwork and their partners, as well as the
industry as a whole. Selenski recognizes eCGRA as representing
real and practical regulation that offers benefits for everyone,
in that it protects the players while at the same time enforcing
high levels of professional and industry conduct at both
the software supplier and poker room levels.
PokerRooms.com’s eCGRA certification comes in close
conjunction with eCGRA’s authorization of poker software
provider, Onegame, and means that the huge number of players
at PokerRooms.com’s site will now be protected by eCGRA
regulations, which run every aspect of the game. Only after
weeks of intensive onsite inspections is the seal given.
The inspections, which are performed by an autonomous professional
services group, is a constant, ongoing process that reviews
and monitors business actions as well as central clearing
house operations and measures carried out to assure anti-collusion.
Only after an online gambling operation has successfully
passed the initial inspections, is it awarded the “Playing
it Safe” seal, which is given by three independent
directors of the eCGRA Board who manage the organization’s
operational activities.
This online gambling regulatory body initiative is available
to all Internet gaming web sites and provides realistic player
protection through a vigilantly developed set of regulations.
In addition, there is also a Fair Gaming Advocate to whom
players can appeal if any disputes were to arise between
any player and an online casino, one that is not resolvable
at the casino level.
PokerRooms.com, is owned by Onegame, and is one of the
first poker rooms to appear on the Internet. In addition
to other traditional casino games, it offers a variety of
poker games that include Texas Hold ‘em. PokerRooms.com’s
accreditation by eCGRA is of major relevance to the expanding
online poker industry as a whole, since it reflects that
a real effort is being put forth to enforce self-regulating
measures. It can be said that eCGRA’s regulations regarding
the online gambling industry, cut across political and geographic
barriers. They in fact address all aspects of the game including
efficient customer service, fair gaming, money handling measures,
and responsible gambling.
