LuckyMee a United
Kingdom based online gambling site, which is owned by Harrahs,
has announced its closure. This is occurs after a year of
major loses.
David Strowe of Harrahs, blames the lose of profits and
ballooning costs as reasons for shooting it down. The total
amount lost by the online gaming site in its past year of
operation is reported to have reached a total of $9.3 million.
LuckyMee was unique in that it offered players who maintained
a monthly subscription, access to an unlimited number of games.
Subscription costs ranged from $17 to $84 a month. With this
player were allowed access to such games as online Bingo as
well as other online casino games. Cash prizes were significant
and ranged from $1.7 million to $8.5 million. In addition,
the LuckyMee site used a process of identification that was
able to automatically exclude players from the United States
and those other countries that maintain bans against online
gambling.
