This week, the endeavor of Robert Wexler, a Florida Congressman, to make poker legal in the United States got an early Xmas boost when Robert E. Andrews, the Representative from New Jersey became the twenty first to co-sponsor the bill by his signature too.
Constantly growing support has been gathering momentum for the HR 2610 Skill Games Exemption bill submitted by Wexler, which is possibly not as prominent as Barney Frank's, the Congressman's larger encompassing Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement bill, aiming to provide an overall United States Internet gambling license and regulation.
The UIGEA's exemption list might soon have the Hr2610 poker added to it.
At the moment, Representative Andrews, who has vast experience in politics, is in his tenth term of Congress, with a history of committee work, for instance, he is the present chairman of the Higher Education Lifelong Learning and Competitiveness and Education and Labor. He also sits as a member on the House Armed Services committee as well the Budget, Terrorism and Unconventional Threats and Oversight and Investigation sub-committees.
