The names of 56 people were taken by Taranto Financial Guard officers following the investigation on allegations of unauthorized online betting. Early and scanty reports just in, indicate that the Italian financial police have been active in busting an illegal and unlicensed online betting ring that stretches over 20 centers.
Those under investigation are the as yet unnamed owners and clients of the locations where the bets were placed. An AGI report said that police uncovered a complex system which managed to evade the AAMS authorizations system in place for gambling, and have identified 20 illegal centers. A sizeable amount of hardware was seized during the operation.
