E-payment processor expecting heavy losses

The e-payment processor, Fireone Group, a company that transfers money and processes online credit card payments in the gambling industry, announced this week through its parent, Optimal, that it will be stopping US transactions.

The FireOne Group stated that it will continue to offer multi-currency credit and debit card and FirePay electronic wallet processing to the online gambling industry originating from non-U.S. consumers and will consider card-not-present payment processing opportunities outside of online gambling.

This sudden move is a direct result of new US legislation designed to hamper online gambling financial transactions and which is awaiting signature by the US president this week.
