TV series to feature subscription gaming club

The ingenious UIGEA workaround for America's estimated 60 million poker fans, ClubWPT, is to be featured in a Fox Sports Net television series following an agreement with World Poker Tour Enterprises.

The membership-by-subscription organization ClubWPT was launched at the beginning of 2008 and operates under US sweepstakes rules. It offers daily poker and blackjack events.

Members pay a monthly subscription of $19.95, and players receive points to play in over 4,000 live tournaments, sit-n-go’s and ring games carrying opportunities to win upwards of $100,000 in cash and prizes each month.

In addition, the Club sponsors WPT tournament packages for successful players, and provides players with magazine subscriptions and travel and entertainment discounts redeemable in Las Vegas.

George Greenberg, Executive Vice-President of Programming and Production for Fox Sports Net said: “Fox Sports Network takes pride in its progressive approach to programming and is pleased to be the new home for the World Poker Tour.”

“The WPT is synonymous with big event poker and is a firmly established household brand. The marriage is perfect.”

This new deal follows an agreement between Fox and WPT for the former to broadcast Season VII of the World Poker Tour.
