French to Sponsor 888

In a deal to run for two seasons, gambling giant 888.com has signed an agreement to sponsor Toulouse Football Club from this week. The agreement comes in the wake of the firm’s attempts to boost business outside its traditional North American market.

888’s chief executive officer, John Anderson, announced the deal, saying "Our investment in sports sponsorship has yielded terrific results to date in the UK,
which was our fastest growing territory last year. Our strategy is to roll this out through Continental Europe and I am delighted to announce this agreement with Toulouse as evidence of that strategy being put into practice."

A spokesperson for 888 added that the deal compliments the current strategy of supporting multi-lingual websites. 888 offers services in eleven languages to 177 countries.

888’s new sponsorship deal follows several successful ventures, namely the firm’s sponsorship of England’s Middlesbrough Football Club and the World Snooker Championship.
