Five to present skills games

GameAccount is quickly establishing itself as the leading supplier of skill games to television groups following.

Its reputation was further bolstered this week  with the sign up of the British television and media channel Five.

The two companies have joined to cooperate in order to launch the next skill gaming portal called Five Play and Win at Play and Win, these will be dedicated to skill gaming and will also be available through the main Five.tv site.

viewers of five will receive an additional user experience which allows them to register and play skill games for both fun and for money. This will all be available on the site.

While five was launched almost ten years ago, it has a current audience of fifty million british viewers. The channel is considered a leader in its category. This has been equated according to commercial airtime, sponsorship, interactive and advertiser funded programs.

The latest significant growth area is the online skill games area. Five hopes to lever their commercial reach thus generate significant player revenues in addition to building a dynamic online gambling community.

The skill gaming area on the five portal will be powered by GameAccount. This will offer a full suite of non-download classic multiplayer and heads-up games including Gin Rummy, unique P2P variants of other games such as Mah Jong, 8-ball Pool and an impressive range of popular Solitaire formats.

Bespoke tournaments on demand will find support from the network. This includes the world’s largest knockout tournament that involves over fifteen thousand entries.

Five considers skill gaming its new frontier. According to spokesmen the company is hoping to offer innovative and engaging online experiences for its viewers and audiences. They intend to connect their broadcasting capacity with the skill games on offer. They hope this will create new revenues and channels. Thus, it will narrow the gap between online and televised gaming experience.

according to Kevin Dale, Chief Executive at GameAccount, the new venture offers a significant cross-over opportunity for media companies, especially those companies hoping to increase their platforms. There is a low barrier entry required in Skill Games media advertising channels. For this reason it has a strong appeal to audiences who like to play recognizable games for real money. This compares to the Bingo or Poker phenomena.
