Bodog Finds New Owner as It Exbands it services

Some may think of the name Bodog as being somewhat of a different sort of name for an online casino. Not too long ago, Alwyn Morris of the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group acquired the North American online gambling operations of Bodog Group. The interest was sold out by Bodog Group founder Calvin Ayre. Mr. Morris is known to have several known credits to his name in addition to having been recognized by the Canadian Government because of his good work with regard to Aboriginal Youth in the area. He has worked with the youth to stem problems of alchoholism and drug abuse. In 1985 the highest civilian honor available in Canada, the prestigious Order of Canada, had been given to him.

Since competing as a Sprint Canoer at the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in 1984, Morris, who was born on November 22nd, 1957, has been known as an Olympic Champion. At the event he won two medals, a gold and a bronze. It stands to reason that as a role model for Aboriginal Youth Mr. Morris is a good one.

In addition to this, Morris has been a principal advisor to the Chief and Council of the Mohawk Nation in the negotiations being held between the Mohawk Council and the Government of Quebec as regards regulations pertaining to online gambling.  from this the had made the decision to establish a platform for online gambling.

Because he is a very independent person, Morris at first wanted to develop his own online casino brand. But Morris was able to recognize what he believed to be a really good deal when he met Ayre the owner of Bodog who was making his company available for purchase. It was his decision to purchase this established brand for use with the North America market. Consequently, he has not been involved with the European operations nor with the recently established Asian operations of Bodog or with any of the other entertainment brands that were being offered by Bodog.

Morris is quoted as saying that he is involved with management of product development, maintenance of the infrastructure, customer service, marketing, etc. Morris is very clear on what he wants for Bodog in the future, when he discusses his current operation.

His goal is the improvement of the user’s experience, the reduction of barriers to entry and significantly more digital entertainment being offered. He mentioned that there are specific plans to update the casino lobby and in addition to online tournaments, to add new and exciting games along with, contests and promotions. It is his objective to provide players with greater opportunities to win the generous bonuses and prizes.
