Chartwell Moving to Malta without Richardson

Chartwell Games, the European sales arm of Canadian turnkey provider Chartwell Technology will be losing its CEO Lee Richardson later this year. The split is amicable and follows a company decision to move its main European marketing office to the Mediterranean island of Malta. Richardson told eGaming Review this week that he is not prepared to relocate from the UK.

“I wish to emphasize that my departure is under amicable circumstances. I remain a major stockholder in the company and I am proud of my achievements at Chartwell. I will announce plans for the future soon,” said Richardson in a statement.

Richardson is not the first senior industry executive to decline to make an international move. Cryptologic CEO Lewis Rose found himself in a similar situation when the company decided to relocate its head office from Toronto to Dublin, Ireland and stepped aside earlier this year for Javaid Aziz to take the reins.
