The online gambling industry was taken by surprise two months ago when Johan Berg, then the boss of Boss Media, a leading developer of innovative software and systems for digitally-distributed gaming entertainment, announced his resignation after two years in the hot seat at the Swedish turnkey provider. The firm's head of business development, Markus Holm was temporarily handed the reins and responsibilities.
This week it was reported by chairman Meg Tiveus that the Board of Directors of Boss Media AB has appointed Michael Hallén (43) to the post of CEO and President. Hallén was formerly President and Chief Executive Officer of IFS (Industrial and Financial Systems), and has long-standing experience of software and international operations.
While he was President of IFS up to the year 2006, Hallén succeeded in reversing a negative trend and in achieving profitability. Prior he worked in various executive positions at IFS, involving responsibility for both product development and marketing. During recent years, Hallén has also served as a Member of the Board of several fast-growing software and service companies.
Meg Tiveus said, “The Board of Directors is delighted at having recruited Michael, who, based on his experience of both software development and international operations, will further strengthen Boss Media's strategic focus on becoming a complete supplier of platforms for digitally distributed game-based entertainment for international customers in the gaming industry.” Hallén is due to assume his new position on July 1.
