Congress endorses research into the online gambling world

Nevada Republic Jon Porter received the support of forty two politicians for his initiative and proposal to a Congressional investigative committee to thoroughly explore online gambling rather than simply banning.
Porter has since introduced the in Internet Gambling Study Commission Act. This act establishes a commission to examine the impact of online gambling.

Original cosponsors of the bipartisan legislation areNevada Reps. Jim Gibbons and Shelley Berkley. The political study would be the first of its kind.

According to Porter, congress needs a far more educated outlook before it can adequately make a decision on the subject of online gambling. constantly evolving technology will help aid the study reach conclusion about the effect of online gambling. the study will be undertaken by a bipartisan, independent study commission. It will involve Internet gambling and the existing legal framework governing such activities.
The study will lay bare the facts involved in this industry before congress makes the next step in accepting or banning the field.
Nine members will be appointed to study.
According to Gibbons, since gambling has expanded to include the internet where everybody with a connection has access to play it is integral to maintain the integrity and fairness of the games which requires a thoughtful examination of the industry.
Congress Porter has labeled congresses reaction by simply banning online gambling without inspecting it first as simply a knee jerk reaction. Gibbons has praised the initiative and is confident  is will aid legislation to make a comprehensive and conclusion decision on the issue.
The investigation will require business and legal support. Nevada land operations are pledging their support behind the initiative. Additionally, the American Gaming Association and National Council of Legislators from Gaming States have also voiced their support.
A complete picture of the industry is due prior a meeting in January.
