Sportingbet is a publically listed internet gambling group. The company recently produced their last financial results from the first quarterly of this year. The company also recently revealed it plans to of succession. Sportingbet’s finance chief, Andrew McIver will become its Group Chief Executive. Alternatively, the current top jock Nigel Payne will be moving to executive director position to lobby industry regulation in America and Europe. He will assist McIver as well as the board in research and execution of business development opportunities.
All this will take place on the same day Sportingbet is set to publish its financial results from the last year ending 31 July 2006. McIver Says of the plans, that he is delighted to be offered this opportunity. He will be leading one of the biggest and most exciting company in the industry. He adds that he is ready for the challenge.
McIver adds that five years previously he also took over the role of Group Finance Director from Nigel. He says he is happy to be succeeding him again, this time in the position of Chief Executive. McIVer has worked a lot with Nigel over the last five years. Together they have been creating a strategy for sporting bet. McIver’s main duty will be to focus on brand development and the company’s core supermarket philosophy. He confirms the success of this approach, saying it has been a proven formula from which he will continue to drive the business. According to McIver’s predictions, the next few years will see the increasing importance of customer experience within the industry. This will take place through various channels such as website personalization, innovative and focused product development, targeted marketing or enhanced customer service. McIver hopes to keeps Sportingbet’s status as a leader in this area. Nigel Payne also expressed his pleasure at the new arrangements. He stated his satisfaction at the depth of management talent housed by the company. Payne is pleased to be stepping down from the day to day management of the company and turning his concentration to integral areas such as regulation development and business expansion.
