Play it Safe course against underage and problem gambling

One hundred managers will be participating in a global training course to be held in London.
Additionally, the online standards and player protection group, eCommerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance (eCOGRA) will be holding its second global training series in London at the end of May. The session will focus on promoting responsible gambling. One hundred Internet casino and poker rooms will be participating in this.
Concern around the ongoing problem of underage gambling and problem gamblers continues to disturb casino managers. For this reason, managers from around the world, who are responsible for these issues will participate in a two day intensive training workshop. They will receive training from a team of specialists from Global Gambling Guidance Group (G4).

In 2005 a similar session took place in South Africa for eCOGRA sealed sites.

CEO of eCOGRA, Andrew Beveridge, stated that the course is a requirement for online casinos and poker rooms maintaining the Play it Safe seal. As part of the contract it is incumbent upon members of staff to receive training for effective and responsible gaming measures.

the course involves a series of lectures, practical workshops and homework. The course teaches the managers how to spot problem gamblers using a technique known as Brief Intervention Techniques (BIT).
