Israelis the no 1 gamblers in the world

According to Globes, an Israeli business publication, Israelis spend over 10 billion shekels on gambling each year.
This was one of the results from a recent survey conducted by Credit Information Association.
According to the survey, there are more Israeli gamblers than European and American, per capita – in regards to participating in legal gambling.
On average, while Europeans spend a mere $135 per year gambling, Americans spend about $250 per year and Israelis spend a whopping $440 per year.
Of the 10 million shekels spent on gambling three-and-a-half billion of this goes towards the lottery and Toto sports betting tickets. The next one-and-a-half billion accounts for legal bets wagered through the internet and mobile cellular networks. Furthermore, over five billion shekels a year is spent on illegal gambling both in Israel and overseas.
The profile of the typical legitimate gambler is as follows: firstly, he is between the ages of 40-60 years old. Secondly, he earns only an average income.
