Dublin hosts Easter poker competition

Easter is no time to take off from poker.
Indeed this Easter will see 350 poker players meet to compete.
These players will be descending on Dublin throughout Easter weekend in order to secure their seat at the final table of the Paddy Power Poker Irish Open 2006 Poker Tournament.
For those who don’t want to miss the action, they can catch all the poker play they need on Sky Sports 2 at 9:30pm. The network will be screening the tournament live across Europe on Monday 17 April.
This is the first time such coverage will take place in Ireland. The filming will be before an exclusive VIP audience at a secret location, somewhere in Dublin.
The final will see six winning players competing for their share of the 1 million Euros prize with and additional 50 000 Euros being added by the sponsor.
Qualifications took place via the internet. Over 10 000 people attempted to get in. thousands also tried to qualify through live satellite competitions in Ireland. Those that qualified will join some big US and European names on the final day.
