The LA Lakers Youth Foundation was happy with its profits from last weeks 3rd Annual Night and Celebrity Poker Invitation. The evening was sponsored by Bodog. CEO of Bodog Calvin Ayre and Lakers owner Dr Jerry Buss were at the scene to welcome their guest to the special event. The evening took place at the Barker hangar in Santa Monica. John Borne, poker player and Lakers fan, won the poker game while second spot went to Rossi Morreale of Extra. Bodog Girls were available to provide interesting and free poker lessons to guests. During the fundraiser many learned some new poker skills thanks to these girls.
Friends and family of both Bodog and Lakers attended the big event. They included amongst them Magic Johnson, Paris Hilton, Anne Heche, Regina King, Jennifer Tilly, Bai Ling, Ricki Lake, Rue and various others.
Amongst the guest were many past and present Lakers players such as Kobe Bryant, Kwame Brown, Brian Cook, Jim Jackson and many others. A donation of $150,000 to the LA Lakers Youth Foundation was made by Ayre. Ayre presented the check at a half-time during a Lakers vs Clippers game at the Staples Center. All the proceeds that were raised went to the Lakers Youth Foundation. This foundation supports over 30 children's charities throughout the Los Angeles area. It supplies education, medical, care and after school care to thousands of youth and children at risk.
