Peru Chosen By Swedish Company to Pioneer Online Gambling

According to "Living in Peru," a magazine for ex-pats living in Peru, the company Betsson, which is a gambling company located in Sweden, and which is associated with Net Entertainment, the developer of online gambling software, has officially begun operations in the more liberal Peruvian online gambling market.

Betsson already has in excess of 900,000 clients worldwide, and is continuing to grow.  This European colossus is following its strategy for worldwide expansion and has selected Peru as its newest market for online products. The company offers a broad range of top pf the line online gambling products and games, which may be experienced in a secure and user-friendly gaming setting.

Some of the games offered by Betsson include what amounts to a complete online gambling service, with such choices as online casino, online poker, scratch cards and sports betting. According to the article in "Living in Peru," Betsson is the only company of its kind operating in Peru.

Global Betting and Gaming Consultants (GBGC), rate online gambling sales as having reached in excess of $15 billion a year.

Betsson's General Manager, Thomas Kalita explains that after carefully examining the South American market, Betsson settled on Peru due to its fantastic growth in housing with access to the Internet. This accounts for the relatively high numbers of Internet users along a developing game culture. This along with the capacity of their local partner made for s decisive decision.

Kalita says that comparing the economic  infrastructure in Peru to other countries in the region showed it to be a more than viable choice for marketing their services.

He points out that Peru is deserving of more varied game and the opportunity to achieve more with their money. Those who see themselves as winning the weakened 'Clasico' will be ready to bet on the games Betsson is offering, Kalita points out.

The director of the Peruvian General Office of Casino Games and Slot Machines, Manuel San Roman, says that just as they have been able to control land based gambling they will be able to repeat their success with the online gaming industry.
