Poker Classic Grand Finale about to get under way

As usual around this time of year the fever begins to pitch around the World Poker Tour.
This is because the grand finale is about under way. This year's grand finale will be held at the Bellagio Hotel Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
This year's competition is the 4th Annual Five-Star World Poker Classic. The competition begins in the first week in April with no limit hold'em Texas poker tournaments for two days. The two days will include a seniors event as well as a super satellite opportunity called 'the last chance to qualify'.

Running both day and night are the one table qualifiers. This will take place through out the events, as they are scheduled for the following day's competitions.

Obviously Bellagio is proud and thrilled to be hosting the big event. Indeed, this is the fourth year in a row the hotel will be hosting the WPT World Championship. The competition is the grand finale of the five star world poker classic.
According to Doug Daltan, the Director of Poker Operations at Bellagio, since the number of participants continues to increase, so too does the prize pool itself. Indeed, new highs continue to be set.
Last year's winner Tuan Le will be making his appearance to defend his 2005 WPT Championship title. The prize included a bracelet, trophy, a silver platter and some serious money.
Le walked away with the title after beating a field of 452 players. Le won almost three million dollars in prize money. Even though he was shortly stacked, he managed to defeat his rival at the final table, Paul Maxfield. Nevertheless, Maxfield took home almost two million dollars.

Over twelve champions have already qualified for the competition. These include the Grand Prix de Paris champion Roland De Wolfe. Additional participants include Gavin Smith. Gavin won the Mirage Poker Showdown. Other names include Legends champion Alex Kahaner and several other noted players such as Al Ardebili, Ultimatebet's Aruba winner, Freddie Deep, etc, etc.
