Everything from Sudoku to Solitaire, Bejewelled to Poker and Hotwheels to Jamtris is what the new Directtv Game Lounge skill games site operated by FUNTech subsidiary Skilljam will be offering. It will also feature and offer cash prizes for its interactive television skill gaming audience.
Anyone using the new facility will be able to participate via his or her remote controls, and Skilljam will launch television versions of eight of its online games including solitaire and free cell.
However, not all DirecTV boxes and remote controls will be able to get Game Lounge at present but viewers can tune into channel 110 and press the blue button. Games can be previewed for free with a monthly Game Pass costing $5.99 a month or buy a single game pass for $1.95.
DirecTV also reports that interactive "Plus" games, which are designed for PVRs only and play from the PVR's hard drive, are on the way.
