Dept. of Justice Targeting Another Gambling Exec?

Rumors ran rampant this week. The talk is that the U.S. Department of Justice enforcers are about to target another online gambling executive for arrest on a sealed warrant. What was claimed to be idle gossip was adamantly denied this week by a spokesman responding to a press enquiry by the publication ‘eGaming Review’.

Substantial damage has been inflicted by U.S. enforcers on investor confidence in the international online gambling business through the alarm and fear which the arrests of executives like David Carruthers and Peter Dick caused. More recently the detention of Neteller founders John Lefebvre and Stephen Lawrence caused mild panic even though the latter two are no longer employed by Neteller.

According to sources in Washington DC who spoke earlier to eGaming Review, the US authorities are on the verge of unsealing another set of indictments against a high-profile US-facing betting and gaming operator. A move at this stage could impact Superbowl activity and create major media headlines.

In response to a direct question from EGR, a Department of Justice spokesperson said: “Nothing will be made public until an individual or a company is charged.”
