Paddy Power Play recently conducted a research on poker. Their Poker 2006 – the State of Play report on the study has been written about by InfoPowa. Nevertheless, the report came up with several amusing facts about the industry.
The report by Paddy Power Poker claims it delved deep into British and Irish poker players souls, hearts and minds. Through this it was able to discover that more than half of the players have at one point played naked or only in their underwear. Additionally, over sixty percent would rather play poker than have sex.
Another staggering statistic is that over thirteen percent have injured themselves while playing poker – how, was not questioned…
A third of those questioned said they wouldn’t have a problem staking their partner for a million dollar game, similarly over a third has admitted to telling white lies in order to play poker.
Additionally, seventy percent have admitted to wanting to destroy their computer following a bad beat, around eighty percent believe poker is a game of skill and a staggering 38 percent play poker on a daily basis.
The survey included over 500 poker players from Ireland and Britain. Additionally, the survey found that the majority of poker players in Ireland will be voting for Fianna Fail in the upcoming general election. Alternatively, the majority of British player vote conservative.
Fidel Castro was voted champion in the hypothetical question of a poker game between George W. Bush, Kim Jong Il, Osama Bin Laden, Tony Blair and Fidel Casto.
Elvis the Pelvis only just won the option of playing poker with a historical figure. He narrowly beat poker legend and gun slinger Wild Bill Hickok. Additionally, around the same amount of people wanted to play with Hitler as they did Jesus.
