A new main prize valued at Euro 100,000 has been launched by the Swedish Entraction poker network. This is as a part of a live tournament branded the European Masters of Poker and is to be carried out in conjunction with some of the most exclusive land-based casinos in Europe.
A series of five live poker tournaments will make up the tournament which will start at the Olympic Casino in Tallinn, Estonia. The starting tournament will be from February 20th to the 22nd, 2009, and the final tournament is scheduled for September at the Casino Di Venezia in Malta. Euro 1,100 is the price to players to buy-in. Alternatively they may win seat packages online starting at as little as two Euros at skins on the Entraction poker network.
A spokesman for the Solna-based online poker firm announced this week that the tournaments target all types of poker players through the inclusion of a relatively low buy-in allowing non-professional players to compete for the title of European Master of Poker.
It is a known fact that only a few players are able to compete when the buy-in costs thousands of Euros, and this added the Solna-based online poker firm spokesperson is in spite of the fact that there is a large selection of poker tournaments in Europe. European Masters of Poker tournaments are designed to break this tendency and to target the larger and therefore more important segment of non-professional players, those who desire to spend time with other poker players and compete for a first prize of up to Euro 100,000.
Entraction's Maltese subsidiary TNPT Limited is the owner of the five separate tournaments. Teresa Nousiainen from Pokerielamys Limited is the director and the tournaments are set up to be organized by local licensed casinos in Cyprus and Malta, Estonia, the Czech Republic, and in Spain.
Acting Product Manager for Entraction, Daniel Eskola, says that the European Masters of Poker tournaments is a terrific way for partners in the Entraction poker network to strengthen the relationship with their existing players while also attracting new players. He adds that this occurs because the only way to make sure of a seat at the tournament is to play at a partner site in the Entraction poker network.
