Party Gammon.Com Offering Largest Ever Prize in Backgammon

Party Gammon.com Million, organizers and operators of the inaugural million dollar backgammon tournament, stunned the media by announcing that the event will soon be sold out. The tournament will take place at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas from the 21st-25th January, 2007. Places for competitors are almost sold out for the event which will be offering the largest guaranteed prize pool in the history of backgammon.

The entry field consisting of well known backgammon players from all corners of the globe, will include a maximum of 128 players and consist of both players who directly buy-in to the tournament as well as online qualifiers. Philip Vischjager of Holland, the 2006 world champion has his seat, and Nack Ballard, the USA world number one elect, has also confirmed his participation. There are entries from Chile, Argentina and Japan among the participants who have signed up to play.

A PartyGammon.com spokesman said, “There are only a few places left and those are going fast. We anticipate that we’ll soon be sold out. There are a few places left so if you can make an immediate decision book your flight to the Bahamas. The quality of players in the field is very high. It will be interesting to see how the online qualifiers cope against the world champions at the high playing levels.”

There is still time for players to qualify online for this fantastic event at Party Gammon.com for as little as $2.50, with qualifiers for the $1 Million tournament winning a sponsored package worth $12,500. This includes a $10,000 buy-in for the main event, a 5-night stay in the luxurious Atlantis resort, and $800 to cover travel expenses.
