The traditional holiday season slowdown of online gambling news as the year draws to a close and an increase in the amount of wild rumors is in full stride right now. Various industry publications are reporting "unconfirmed rumors" that the Party Gaming group could be planning a return to the American market which it so recently and some say, left too suddenly.
There has been no official statement from PartyGaming, and the reports remain unsourced and unconfirmed in keeping with the rumor season.
When Senator Bill Frist pushed through the US legislation that puts a stop to online gambling financial transactions, Party Gaming pulled out of the U.S. market. Signed into law as ‘UIGEA’, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act by President Bush on October 13, the law has caused major public companies to suffer substantial share price drops and some to withdraw from the American market which for most had constituted their main source of business.
However, since the pull back, several private companies that have continued to offer online poker and casino gambling to the US market have seen business turnover increase sharply and steadily.
