PartyGaming shares are back on track. After their value plunged in September following cautious words by executives, the online gaming giant decided to aggressively confront competitors. They are consequently launching a new gaming site later this year. To be known as PartyCasino, the site will run parallel to PartyGaming's existing online casino, Starluck. The site will host two additional new products. The first will be a person-to-person skill game, while the second will more closely resemble a casino. Additionally, to make switching between games smoother PartyGaming will introduce a 'shared purse'. This will allow players to switch between their sites in one click. Of course it's not only the players who benefit from the shared purse concept. While indeed it will be a far smoother process for alternating between games, it also means PartyGaming has a far easier task of promoting its various games. Like most online gaming sites,PartyGaming's revenue is sourced mostly from the US; over eighty-percent in fact. Nevertheless, in order to attract new clientele PartyGaming, 2006 will see PartyGaming accessible in an additional six new languages and currencies. With shady legal issues in America, the company and its investors hope to reduce their dependence on the American market as well as breach new niche markets. Nonetheless, large economies such as those in Asia are still hard to penetrate and will hopefully produce opportunities in the medium to long term. This is due to their highly regulated environments and relatively small access to broadband internet. Online gaming is also turning to mobile phones. Indeed, many casino games and sports betting are successfully taking place over mobile phones. However, longer games such as poker are more problematic since the mobile signals regularly fail during games. It's not rocket science: to place a sport's bet you need only send one sms. When playing poker, and you have a royal flush, you will be quite jarred when the connection is lost. Though mobile phones are only still in the pipeline, PartyGaming is not so excited about this direction. Consequently, they have turned to another technological phase – digital television. Indeed, promising player interaction, digital television looks to be a promising medium. Continually looking to boost the company, PartyGaming has speculated their interest in buying into sports betting operations.
