Learning how to play craps is fun and easy and could make
you a winner. Study the sequence of play in a craps game
below and get ready to play craps and win!
- Place bets with the shooter rolling the dice. You can
make ‘Pass Line’ or ‘Don’t Pass
Line’ bets.
- Once the bets are made the shooter will roll the dice
and you’ll find out whether you’ve won or lost.
- If you’ve made a ‘Pass Line’ bet and
a seven or an eleven have been rolled, you’re a winner.
If not, you lose.
- If you’ve made a ‘Don’t Pass Line’ bet
and a two, three or twelve have been rolled, you’re
a winner. If not, you lose.
- If a four, five, six, eight, nine or ten have been rolled,
the game now goes to ‘Point.’
- The shooter has to roll the same number again to win.
For example, if a four made point, the shooter must roll
a second four. If the shooter rolls a second four, he must
then roll a seven to complete the sequence. Without a second
four and a seven, the shooter loses his bet.
As you can see, learning the game of craps is relatively
easy. Also simple and straightforward are your betting options.
Pass Line and Don’t Pass Line bets, along with Come
and Don’t Come bets are the best bets to start with.
Each bet gives you a 50% chance of winning. To make bets
that yield higher payouts, try Hard Line bets. Making Pass Line and Don’t Pass Line Bets To make a Pass Line bet, the player must place his bet
on the line with the shooter. A seven or an eleven rolled
by the shooter means the player wins the bet. A Don’t Pass Line bet means the dice must yield a
twelve, three or two for the player to win. The bet is made
by placing it physically on the Don’t Pass line. Come and Don’t Come Bets If you arrive at the craps table late and the first bets
have already been won or lost, don’t worry. You don’t
have to wait for the next game before joining in. You have
the option of making Come and Don’t Come bets after
the ‘point’ has been reached. When you bet a ‘Come’ bet you are betting that
the shooter will succeed in making his bet, that is rolling
two consecutive numbers and then a seven. If you place a ‘Don’t
Come’ bet you are betting against the shooter succeeding. Seven Bet You also have the option of making a bet towards the end
of the point sequence. This is called the ‘Seven’ bet
and you’re betting that the shooter will roll a final
seven to win his bet after point. Big Six or Eight Winning this bet depends on the shooter rolling either
a six or an eight before the final seven at point. Craps Bet This bet relies on a two, three or twelve to be rolled
to win. Hard Way Bets These bets are not for the faint-hearted. Remember that
even though the odds are far more favourable if you win a
hard way bet, the likelihood of you doing so is that much
smaller. Hard way bets are made on double numbers, for example,
rolling two 5’s or two 6’s. If a 10 or a 7 is
rolled before you make double numbers, you lose the bet.
